Mackay Community Church became part of the Village Missions family back in 1973, becoming even more connected with a network of pastors and communities across the United States and Canada. Village Missions sends pastors to rural churches like ours, providing care and support to the tight-knit communities they serve.
Mike and Mati Winters are part of Village Missions, serving as missionaries here at MCC for more than a decade. Their love for this community and for the MCC family have truly enriched our community and congregation.
As followers of Christ, we believe in the power of community and unity. We come together to support and uplift one another, striving to be authentic in our relationships. We believe in helping each other grow in our faith and in all areas of our lives. Hebrews 10:25 reminds us of the importance of gathering together as believers. We acknowledge that we are not meant to walk this journey alone;
Our desire is to make Jesus known throughout our community, we strive to spread the message of God's love for all people, offering the gift of everlasting life through faith in Jesus. We aim to build strong relationships with those around us, always reminding ourselves and others that "Christ Is Enough" in our redemption. By coming together for fellowship and friendship, we support and edify one another, finding joy and strength in unity. Let us continue to shine His light brightly in our community and beyond, sharing the good news of Jesus with love and grace.
What We Believe
At Mackay Community Church, we believe the Bible clearly reveals who God is, who we are, and the hope we have through Jesus. Here’s a summary of our core beliefs, grounded in Scripture:
God
We believe in one eternal God who exists in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; John 10:30; John 4:24)
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is God’s Son, born of a virgin, fully God and fully man. He shed His blood to pay for our sins, rose from the dead, and is now our risen Lord. (Luke 1:35; Romans 3:25; Acts 2:32–36; 1 Timothy 2:5)
Humanity & Salvation
All people have sinned and are separated from God. But anyone who puts their trust in Jesus is made right with God—by grace, through faith. (Isaiah 53:6; Ezekiel 18:20; Acts 13:38–39; Ephesians 2:8–9)
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin and works in believers to give new life, live within us, guide us, strengthen us, and lead us into truth. (John 16:8; 1 Corinthians 3:16; Acts 1:8)
The Church
Everyone who places their faith in Jesus is part of His Church. We are called to live differently from the world and to share His love with others. (1 Corinthians 12:12–13; James 4:4; Romans 12:1–2; 1 John 2:15–16; 2 Corinthians 6:14; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8)
The Bible
We believe the entire Bible—Old and New Testaments—is inspired by God and is our final authority for faith and life and truth.
(2 Timothy 3:16–17)
Satan & Hell
We believe Satan is real and active in the world, and that Hell is a real place of eternal separation from God. (Job 1:6–7; Matthew 25:46)
The Resurrection
One day, all people will be raised—those who believe to eternal life with Jesus, and those who reject Him to final judgment. (John 5:28–29; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; Revelation 20:11–15)
